Good Shepherd Hospital

These photos are from my recent trip to Congo. The Good Shepherd Hospital is part of the Christian Medical Institute of Kasai (IMCK) and is located 10 miles from Kananga. It provides critical care for many. As a Christian hospital, they accept all patients. Unfortunately, a large percentage of the patients cannot pay. I am honored to be a part of Friends of IMCK, as we support an endowment, and the proceeds help subsidize doctor's pay and other needs. To read more or to give, please go to www.IMCK.org

The IMCK Endowment Fund provides investment proceeds for IMCK operations and, to date, has disbursed $248,000 to IMCK to support medical needs, staff salaries, and maintenance of the Good Shepherd Hospital, PAX Clinic, the nursing schools, and the hydroelectric facility. Financial survival is still an issue at IMCK, and the Friends of IMCK are working hard to increase the IMCK Endowment Fund to $4M (we currently stand at $1.5M). This year's fundraising goal is $200,000; we are about halfway there.

Your donations will be a blessing for the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo, as proper and affordable health care is not readily available in many areas. And your gift will be a blessing for you, as you will be changing lives in the DR Congo. As we enter a season of giving, please consider supporting the IMCK Endowment Fund.
